When I need a reason to smile because I’ve forgotten how I simply begin to count my blessings. When I can’t sleep, I count my blessings. When things are down, I count my blessings. Before it gets better, it gets worse. Then, after it gets better, it gets worse again. That’s just how life works sometimes but, stay up! you can’t forget about the things that make you smile. I needed a reason to smile the other day so, God reminded me of all the things I should be grateful for. Expect nothing. appreciate everything. I’m so fortunate to live the life I live. However, I pray to God to provide me with more humbleness. I’m in a good place with myself/ life that allows me to be aware of the fact that there’s still more room to grow. I’m rising above the chaos and proving to myself who I can be and who I am by just being me. Sometimes, you need to step outside, get some air, and remind yourself of who you are and who you want to be.
So, this past weekend I viewed the film “The Sitter” I found it very interesting and humorous. However, regardless of all the comedy in the film it also consisted of a very good message behind it all. I can’t recall the exact words Jonah Hill’s states on this particular scene but, it stood out to me a lot. He said something along the lines of “Stop spending feelings on people who don’t deserve them.” As I ponder on this I came to the realization that in life we must be careful on who’s truly worthy of our time and feelings. A lot of us spend time on people who truly don’t deserve our valuable time. Time is something that’s impossible to get back so, we must learn to value it. As I get older, I realize time is also such a beautiful thing when you manage it correctly. Time is precious & all we need. When it comes to feelings many of us tend to fall in love and gain deep feelings for others that are unworthy of those beautiful deep feelings. To feel is such a blessing. I love the feeling of feeling. To feel is to live. Can you imagine how much better life would be if you solely focused on loving where you’re loved? life could really be that simple! I say it because I’m learning to live life by that motto. Love only where loved, spend time with only those who are deserving, and realizing your worth. Realizing your worth and position in life is where it must begin.
This is going to be controversial, but I am going to say it anyway. No matter how powerful and real your feelings may be for someone, if that person cannot fully and honestly return them and therefore actively love you back, these feelings mean nothing.
